About the Author: Dr Pratap Sanchetee, an astute clinician and experienced neurologist, is known for sincerity, brilliant academic record and flair for medical journalism. Born in 1948 at Jodhpur, he acquired medical graduation (MBBS) in 1970 and post graduation (MD) in 1974. He joined Indian Armed Forces in 1974 and served at several prestigious hospitals all over the country. He has also been awarded the Chief of Army Staff's Commendation in 1980. In 1985, he obtained post graduation (DM) in neurology from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. After serving Army Medical Corps (AMC) for 24 years, he took voluntary retirement in 1998. He was a postgraduate teacher and examiner for many universities and his last assignment in army was at Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC). Since 1998, he is engaged in clinical practice. At present, he is the Consultant Neurologist, Sanchetee Neurology Research Institute, Jodhpur.
